Nudeotide sequence of reovinu genome segment S

چکیده
This report desoribes the complete nudeotide sequence of human reovirus (Dearing strain) genome segment S3. Previous studies indicated that this RNA encodes the major non-structural viral polypeptlde sigma NS, a protein that binds ssRNAs (Huisman 4 Joklik, Virology 70, 411-421, 1976) and has a poly(C)dependent poly(G) polymerase aotivity (Gomatos e_t al., J. Virol. 2£, 115-124, 1981). The genome segment consists of 1,198 nuoleotldes and possesses an open reading frame that extends 366 codons from the first AUG triplet (residues 2830). There is no significant sequenoe homology between the plus strand of genome segment S3 and that of genome segment S2 determined previously (Cashdollar et al., PNAS 79, 7644-7648, 1982). However, S3 RNA has significant dyad symmetry and regions that can potentially hybridize (AG = -26 KCal/mole) with S2 RNA. From the predicted amlno acid sequenoe a possible secondary structure for sigma NS protein vas determined. Structural features of reovirus RNA and sigma NS are discussed in relation to their role(s) in viral genome assembly.

Phylogenetic relationships of Iranian Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis Virus (IPNV) based on deduced amino acid sequences of genome segment A and B cDNA
Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis Virus (IPNV) is the causal agent of a highly contagious disease that affects many species of fish and shellfish. This virus causes economically important diseases of farmed rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss, in Iran which is often associated with the transmission of pathogens from European resources. In this study, moribund rainbow trout fry were collected during...

Background and Aims: Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a zoonosis caused by a Nairovirus of the family Bunyaviridae. Infection is transmitted to humans mostly by Hyalomma ticks. This study was conducted to determine the rate of CCHFV infection in ticks in Qom province of Iran. Materials and Methods: In this study, Reverse transcription – polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used...
متن کاملCloning of Rota Virus Outer Capsid Protein (VP7) Gene into the pGEM Vector
Background and Aims: In humans the group A rotaviruses are associated with endemic diarrhea in children under the age of 5, leading to approximately 800,000 deaths every year. Introduction of rotavirus vaccines into childhood immunization programs can contribute to substantial reduction in mortality from rotavirus gastroenteritis in developing countries and virtually eliminating hospitalization...
متن کاملNucleotide sequences of two glutamine tRNAs from HeLa cells.
We reported previously that 4.5S RNAj, is associated with poly A RNAs of rodent cells (1). However, this molecule was not found in human, monkey, cat, mink, rabbit or chicken cells ^1) . In HeLa cells, several 4S RNAs are released from the poly A RNA fraction (1) . We determined the nudeotide sequence of one of the most abundant 4S RNA species in this fraction. Nudeotide sequence analysis was p...
